A PRODIGAL MEMBERS WELCOME BACK

A Deaf couple named Mr. and Mrs. Wisdom, who were baptized into our Adventist Church in 2018, have been seeking help to relocate to their new place as their former house has hazarded their lives including their children by their landlord and co-tenants.

They left for Assembly of God Church in a bid to get assistance to renew their lives as our Church at Ogbor Hill Township in Aba East Conference could not help due to lot of church projects at hand. For over four months after they left us, they were not able to get support from that Church.

They have been hopeless and helpless as their work can not help them financially. The wife was sued by the Landlord to see him in the house thinking that he will request her about their payment of the rent they’re owning, but unfortunately, she was attempted to be raped by the Landlord. As she was tried to run away from the Landlord, she fell and her pregnancy was miscarriage, unfortunately.

The co-tenants could not do anything about this because they didn’t understand their communication while others didn’t believe them. Another worsening case is that their elder daughter, aged 9, was sexually molested by one of their co-tenant, an old man, and her private part was bleeding. The man was reported to the police and is in jail.

After listening to their tragic story, I was touched and saddened. I was moved by the Holy Spirit to rescue them by relocating them to a new place financially. They are now happy and have been keeping coming to our Church at Ogbor Hill Township every Sabbath. The ADMI members of Ogbor Church were happy to welcome them back.

Our prayer now is for God to help them get a good job that will boost their financial strength to do the best they can to uphold their livelihood spiritually, physically, and mentally.

We at the Adventist Deaf Ministry International Department (ADMI) of Seventh Day Adventist Church Ogbor Hill Township welcome their come back and pray for more of God’s divine intervention in their life.

PLANING A NEW SIGN LANGUAGE CLASS AND EVANGELISM ADMI CONVENTION IN CROSS RIVER CONFERENCE

On 11th January, 2021, a team of ADMI along with me took a 3 hours journey to the Cross River Conference Headquarter in Calabar to meet the Conference President Pastor Edy Edwoh on our upcoming ADMI project in her Conference.

By God’s grace, we have a fruitful meeting regarding our plan to start a Sign Language Class and organize an Evangelistic Deaf Convention this year.

We are hoping that Sign Language Class will be flagged off officially during the World APM Sabbath Day on 24th April, 2021 with Bro Gospel leading a class. Deaf Convention will take place between June and August depending on fund, God willing.

SISTER NNENNA CHIMA FINALLY BAPTIZED INTO ADVENTIST FAMILY

Sister Nnenna Chima was born into Adventist family but left Adventist for Christian Mission for the Deaf Church (CMDC) due to lack of sign language interpreter, teacher and preacher in Adventist Church in the past.

When ADMI worship Center was introduced into Ogbor Township Church in 2018 by me, she came back and joined us. Unfortunately that she found it difficult to convert herself into Adventist fully as she was not ready to accept the day of worship and the Adventist belief.

It took her three years to accept Jesus of Seventh Day Adventist via baptism on 20th March, 2021 during the two weeks pulpit evangelism at Ogbor Hill led by Pastor Dr Wisdom Adiele the Conference Secretary and APM Conference Director.

To God be the glory for great thing He has done!

IMPROVING OUR HALL OF WORSHIP AT OGBOR TOWNSHIP CHURCH

The hall of our worship at Ogbor Township Church has been very hot with no fan to make our room a cold environment. The room has caused our worship unfriendly and every Sabbath members would keep complaining about the heat and sweat due to the lack of having either standing fan or ceiling fan.

The church leaders have been aware of this but could not help it for a while. I personally couldn’t stand it to see ourselves being frustrated, so I decided to buy two ceiling fans and they were installed by a Deaf electrician Bro Uchenna Nwakpa, who is a Church APM Coordinator, and Deaf carpenter Bro Okezie Okwuonu. All work was done for free of charge.

To God be the glory, everybody are now happy coming to church and feel comfortable.

EMPOWERING OUR MEMBERS FOR PRODUCTIVITY

Poverty, they say, is a disease which can threaten one‘s spiritual life if care is not taken. To ensure that we are not there just to teach them to have a great knowledge on the word of the truth, instead we should also focus on improving their welfare and well being by helping them to get something that will uphold their livelihoods for the betterment.

By God’s divine intervention, I was able to recommend three (3) of our members to the Wife of the Abis State Governor, Mrs Nkechi Ikpeazu, for the Entrepreneurial Empowerment. On 9th March, 2021, Sis Nnenna Chima, Sis Amarachi Adieze, and Sis Veronica Chima were rewarded by Her Excellency with Business equipment to kick off their business.

May they continue to make good use of their business in order to take care of themselves and also our department as well.
