The Deaf Adventist Mexican Congress was on July 30 to August 2. It was in Linda Vista Adventist University in the state of Chiapas. There was an attendance of 70 people from: Aguascalientes, Colima, Tijuana, D.F, Chiapas, Hidalgo, Mérida, Nicaragua, Estados Unidos, Veracruz y Tabasco. The Speakers were Pastor David Trexler and Francisca Trexler. Three deaf women were baptized. All the preaching were focused only for the Deaf, using ASL and LSM (Mexican Sign Language), no voice at all was used. There was a lot of exciting between the Deaf people when biblical material in LSM was presented, It was: Ruth, Jonah, Luke, Mark, Philemon and some chapters of Acts. Every deaf received a DVD of Mark, Jonah and The History of Jesus for free thanks to United Biblical Society and the Mexican Biblical Society. Also the Brazilian Adventist movie “The Final Battle” was presented with translation in LSM and subtitles in Spanish. A Lord’s Supper ceremony was made for all the attendants in sign language.
This blessed event was made thanks with God’s help and these Adventist representatives: ADMI Mexico, Mexican Union from Chiapas, Occidente Asociation, Center of Chiapas Asociation, North Mexican Union, Asociation of Center of Tabasco, and local churches from: Ixmiquilpan, Hidalgo, Narvarte from D.F, Las Terrazas church from Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapas, Colima’s church and a lot of interpreters, painters, volunteers, and non-sign language speakers. Also, 12 Adventist hymns were presented and used during the Congress.
