Director’s Welcome

Welcome

Welcome to the international website for Deaf and for those who desire to work with the Deaf. It is our desire that this website will help foster a sense of international community of fellowship, unity and encouragement as both the Deaf and the hearing participate together in God’s mission. The website is sponsored by the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. While its focus is directed towards Seventh-day Adventists around the world, visitors are always welcome. Questions and comments may be made by clicking on the Contact Us link.

Regardless of whether we are deaf or not, the basic principle behind this website is that we are all created in the image of God and that we can find ultimate wholeness, restoration, fulfillment and hope only in Him. We strongly believe that the Deaf have an active part to play in the final sharing of the “everlasting gospel” (Revelation 14:6,7).

Resources and devotionals will change from time to time so do check back.

Adventist Possibility Ministries

Adventist Deaf Ministries International is an important part of global ministry called Adventist Possibility Ministries.

We are Adventist Possibility Ministries (APM) – grounded in the belief that the gospel transforms the way we see ourselves, others and even God. While we embrace the gospel, we are also aware that, because of sin, there is no perfect church, school, or family, and how we relate to imperfection is vital.

We are APM – recognizing disabilities and loss, but it does not stop there. Rather, we view these through the transforming lens of possibilities—what individuals can do and what they can become.

We are APM – advocating for the recognition of dignity and respect of every person and helping to make possible the discovery of unrealized abilities despite stigmas associated with a disability or loss.

We are APM – affirming that
o All are gifted, needed, and treasured,
o People go where they are welcomed but stay where they are valued.
o Value is inherent and not determined by what a person can or cannot do.
o Each person is unique and has a God-given purpose.
o Included in that purpose is the call to enrich the lives of others which flows out of a sense of gratitude for what they themselves have received

We are APM – a “movement” not a “program” using possibility thinking
to help transform the lives of these seven unique groups of individuals:
o the deaf,
o the blind,
o the physically immobile,
o those who have mental health issues,
o orphans,
o those mourning the loss of a spouse,
o and caregivers, as well as those who live and work with them,

We are Adventist Possibility Ministries. Join the journey! Discover the
possibilities!
